Based in our Transmission Unit, you will support a Delivery Engineer in carrying out a wide range of duties on plant and equipment to the highest standards. As well as undertaking fault finding and diagnostic activities, you will have excellent opportunities to develop your management skills by supervising internal and external staff, acting as a role model and providing mentoring and training. Promoting safety awareness and providing risk assessments will also be important aspects of the job.
Qualified to at least BTECH 3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline, you will have significant post-apprenticeship experience in Substations work and/or HV cable systems. Proven supervisory, fault finding and plant analysis skills, a high level of environmental awareness and a sound grasp of protection equipment and/or main plant will be vital. You should also be capable of carrying out operational tests and maintenance checks.
