Opportunities for Graduates, Students and School Leavers

At National Grid, we know that we need to develop the right people with the right skills for our talent pipeline.  That is why we offer a number of development programmes with entry points after school, during studies and post-graduation.  We employ around 180 development trainees each year who join us as apprentices, foundation engineers, placement students or graduates.

We have received high commendations for our various development programmes.  We were awarded ‘Graduate Employer of the Year’ at the Target Graduate Recruitment Awards in 2006.  We placed runner-up for the National Council for Work Experience's ‘Best Work Experience Provider' in 2006.  Additionally, the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI) has awarded us Grade 1 for our apprenticeship scheme, putting us in the top 10% in the UK.  We have also received commendation from the Learning Skills Council in recognition of our commitment to our apprentice programmes.

We invite you to explore the challenging, exciting and rewarding opportunities available for graduates, students, apprentices, and foundation engineers on our Fresh Talent site.
