Green light for plans to reinforce electricity transmission network between Bramford and Twinstead as Government approves application

National Grid is pleased to announce that the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero has approved its development consent order application for the Bramford to Twinstead Reinforcement, after an independent panel recommended that the application be approved.

Major milestone as Yorkshire clean energy upgrade project begins construction

National Grid is starting work on the £400 million Yorkshire Green Energy Enablement project. The project will upgrade existing infrastructure in North Yorkshire and build a new 10km electricity overhead line along with a short section of underground cables, sealing end compounds, and two new substations.

Go-ahead for UK’s biggest subsea connection project

Ofgem has today confirmed its final approval on the costs associated with delivery of Eastern Green Link 2 (EGL2), enabling construction to start on the 525kV 2GW subsea connection between Peterhead in the north-east of Scotland and Drax on the east coast of England.
