While this has all been happening, the team has continued to mobilise new national service partner contracts, albeit into a less than ideal environment. With Network Plus now joining Wales & West Utilities, SGN and Pens Pen to be fully operationally mobilised, all businesses have come together and worked tirelessly to progress this at a time when the country is facing such significant disruption.
Communication and teamwork have been key throughout this journey and it has been quite challenging in recent weeks. Virtual meetings have replaced the usual monthly face-to-face contract reviews and twice daily performance and project hubs have been introduced to keep momentum behind performance and project milestones in these exceptional times. These have also been vital in continuing to nurture relationships with our service partners and customers.
Since the current restrictions started, over 10,000 essential jobs have been completed nationally on behalf of our customers in order to protect safety and those most vulnerable in our communities. Customer satisfaction levels are high, evidence that our service is well received and the teams, both NGM and our partners, are proud of the part they play to ’keep the gas flowing and people safe.’
Andrew Wadley, Service Delivery Manager, said: "I can only commend our teams in Metering and across our Partner organisations on their approach and willingness to work closely together, find new ways to do things and remove blockers to achieve significant results against tight timescales at this time of uncertainty.
"Making sure we had the right model in place from the get-go we could still deliver for our customers but at the same time protect our people, customers, end consumers and partners who still needed to attend critical sites. Making sure they go home safely to their families at the end of each day."
