Our US businesses

We are making energy more affordable, safe and reliable for our customers in the Northeast US. We’re doing all this through strategic infrastructure investments, aggressive energy efficiency programmes and targeted economic development, while transitioning to a clean energy future for all.

What we do in the US

Our gas and electricity businesses in the US supply energy directly to customers. We own and operate electricity and gas distribution networks in New York, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

We also own and operate electricity transmission facilities across the Northeast; including upstate New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Serving our customers and communities

At National Grid, we live and work in the communities we serve. That’s 17,000 employees serving the energy needs of more than 20 million people in New York, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts.

Our shared sense of community has taught us that our customers are forward-thinking and deeply mindful of the environment, but also challenged by the affordability of a clean energy transition. We believe we can help our communities by working together to solve the greatest challenge of our time – climate change – while delivering an energy future for all of us.
