Visitors to Bishops Wood Environmental Education Centre, near Stourport-on-Severn, will be given the opportunity to make their own eco-friendly Christmas decorations and gifts during an open day at the centre.
On Sunday 12 December, Bishops Wood, which is supported by National Grid and based at the site of one of the company’s electricity substations, will open its doors to visitors.
For an admittance fee of £4 for adults and £2 for children, visitors will have the opportunity to get creative, follow a Christmas trail around the grounds of the centre and learn more about the folk-lore of Christmas.
In what promises to be a fun and educational day, visitors will also be able to discover what the animals of Bishops Wood do to adapt to the Christmas weather.
John Rhymer, Head of Bishops Wood centre, said: “The craft activities we’ll have on offer are ideal for the whole family, and by using simple, recycled and natural materials we’ll help people appreciate the pleasures of doing things together and in an eco-friendly way.
“This should be a fun day for the whole family.”
