Ambleside gas incident press releases
National Grid drafted in engineers from across the North West and beyond to work round-the-clock to get supplies restored to over 1,200 homes in Ambleside during January 2010. All the homes and businesses in the town were cut off when water entered the local gas mains network.
The company used the Mountain Rescue Centre in Lake Road as an incident room and made a £3,000 donation to the centre as a ‘thank-you’ to the centre staff and the people of Ambleside.
