To enable Parties to gain access to the British Transmission System as an Interconnector User, Parties will need:

Connection and Use of System Code (CUSC)

• Use of System Interconnector Offer and Confirmation Notice (Interconnector User)
  The formal framework designed by National Grid to document entitlement to use the British Transmission System. It also provides for the recovery of BSUoS charges. An Offer Notice will only be prepared in response to a completed Use of System Application Form.
• CUSC Accession Agreement
  Users are also required to be a CUSC party. Where this is not already the case, the User is required to enter into a CUSC Accession Agreement under which the User agrees to be bound by the terms of the CUSC. The CUSC is a contractual vehicle which formally sets out the requirement to pay Use of System Charges. Further information relating to the CUSC is available on this website.

Transmission Charges covered by the IFA User Agreement and IFA Access Rules

Under the IFA User Agreement and IFA Access Rules the following transmission charges are passed through to Interconnector Users:

Connection Charges;
Transmission Network Use of System charges for "generation" (i.e. imports from France to England);
Transmission Network Use of System charges for "demand" (i.e. exports from England to France);
