Obtain a Shipper Licence and Sign up to Network Code

Firstly to become an LNG Storage customer you must be a registered as a Gas Shipper. This is achieved via an application to Ofgem.

Gas Transporters (such as National Grid) require prospective Shippers, who wish to arrange for gas to be conveyed through its pipeline network, to complete a confidential application and sign a confidentiality agreement.  Gas Transporters also require all prospective Shippers to sign their Network Code.  Gas Shippers are obliged by their licence to compy with the provisions of the Network Code of the relevant Gas Transporter.

Purchase a Storage Service


Each year, LNG Storage (a trading division of National Grid Gas plc) invites applications for Storage Capacity in accordance with provisions of the Uniform Network Code and the information contained within the Annual Storage Invitation.

The Annual Storage Invitation, which is sent out to all interested parties in early March each year, contains details such as the auction process and applications and the services available.

An LNG Storage capacity service is generally offered at: Avonmouth, Dynevor Arms, Partington and Glenmavis additionally a tankering service at Dynevor Arms and Glenmavis.
