National Grid submitted its Environmental Statement and application for consent to construct the proposed Wormington-Sapperton gas pipeline to the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change on 27 January 2009.

The Department of Energy and Climate Change invited comments on the consent application and Environmental Statement up to 06 March 2009. The deadline for comments has now passed and the Department is considering the comments received before deciding on the application.
