The Excel compatible files below contain gas demand data by postcode sector and Local Distribution Zone that will enable the calculation of energy demand, emissions and Quality of Life indicators by any postcode specified area. This data has been developed and published to meet the many requests received for gas demand data by specific areas e.g. Local Authorities. Please read the notes for guidance if using the CSV files.

 Data since 2005

Since the sale of several of the gas distribution networks in 2005 it has not been appropriate for National Grid to report on gas demand by postcode.  Responsibility for this has been taken over by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR).  Statistics for energy consumption by region are available on the BERR website.
