Affordable Warmth scheme

Some customers may qualify for help towards the cost of providing a new gas service as well as the installation of gas central heating and insulation

As you may be aware National Grid are currently operating an Affordable Warmth scheme to provide eligible customers with a voucher towards the cost of their new gas supply. The qualifying criteria is pre-determined and set by Ofgem (Office of Gas and Electricity Markets):

What is the qualifying criteria?

  • You live in one of the top 20% most deprived areas in National Grid’s gas network area; or
  • Spend more than 10% of your disposable income to heat your property to an adequate level of warmth; or
  • Are in receipt of certain income related benefits; or
  • Are aged 70 years or over

The on-line application process uses your job address postcode to automatically apply the voucher to the cost of your quotation where you live within one of the top 20% most deprived areas. In most cases the voucher will cover the full cost of providing you with a new gas service. Proceed with your online application

If you believe you qualify under any of the other qualifying criteria, please contact Affordable Warmth Solutions (details below).

You may also qualify for help towards the cost of installing:
