National Grid provides information to participants in the gas and electricity markets by publishing an outlook of supply and demand. We do this for both the winter and summer ahead. Recognising that our sources of data are necessarily incomplete, for the Winter Outlook  Report we conduct a consultation exercise designed both to help inform the industry and also to provide us with feedback to support the production of the Winter Outlook Report.

The Winter Outlook report published on 1st October 2009 represents the closing stage of the 2009/10 report process.  There will also be an Ofgem led industry winter seminar in mid October at which a number of industry stakeholders will present their views on the outlook for this winter.  On-going updates to key market information for electricity can be found on www.bmreports.com.
