Electricity Connections and Agreements

The following pages are designed to give generators who are looking for a connection to the National Electricity Transmission System (NETS) or a distribution system in England, Wales & Scotland the required information so that an informed decision can be made on the most practical connection for their project.

New Connections

Generators looking for information on new connections should visit the new connections section of the website.

Changing an existing agreement

If a generator wishes to modify an existing application they will be required to submit a modification application to National Grid.

Complying with an agreement

Generators wishing to better understand the process National Grid follow to enable both new connections comply and existing connections maintain compliance with the Grid Code and bilateral agreement should visit the compliance section of the website.
