MW Register
CUSC amendment proposal CAP145 (Embedded Generator MW Register) was approved by the Authority on 12 June 2007 and introduced into CUSC with effect from 12 September 2007. This change requires the publication of a register setting out details of embedded power station that do not have rights to use the transmission system but due to their size nevertheless have an impact on it.
The existing allocation of Transmission Entry Capacity (TEC) is recorded in the "TEC Register". However the TEC Register only includes information relating to generators that connect directly to the transmission system have have rights to use it. It includes those those with Bilateral Embedded Generation Agreements (BEGAs). CAP145 allows National Grid to to include more information by adding details of generators that connect via the distribution system but do not have access rights to the GB Transmission System. Use of the TEC register and the Embedded Generator MW register together should give customers a broader, more complete picture of the generation affecting the GB Transmission System better enabling them to identify opportunities to seek earlier connection dates when these arise.
