Short Term Firm Access Service

On 10 September 2004, the Authority approved CUSC Alternative Amendment Proposal CAP070 for a Short Term Firm Access Service for implementation from 1 November 2004.
This Amendment introduced a Short Term Firm Access Service, allowing Users to either Request an STTEC Authorisation or Apply for an STTEC Offer. A summary of the different products appears below.

The Service incurs a fixed, non-refundable application fee for each period applied for, and applications will not be deemed to have been received until this application fee has been paid.  The Service itself is subject to a STTEC Charge, calculated using the relevant Short Term Generation Tariff. Details of the application fee and Short Term Generation Tariff are available in the Statement of Use of System Charges. To Request a STTC Authorisation or Apply for a STTEC Offer, please complete the STTEC Request Form (Exhibit P of the CUSC). The form is available to download in Word format on the CUSC Application Forms page of our website.

Please send your completed form to STTEC.Applications@uk.ngrid.com and fax it to 01926 656605.  It is also advisable to telephone National Grid on 01926 654634 to confirm receipt of applications. 

The CUSC obliges National Grid to report on accepted, rejected and not granted STTEC applications. The link below contains further information on STTEC applications, which will be updated on a quarterly basis.
