2012 presentations
The Interim Operational Forum arose as a result of a request from participants for more regular forums. Since their introduction in 2004, these interim fora have been morning sessions, normally lasting around two hours from 10:00-12:00.
With the advent of new technology, National Grid has been holding web-based meetings and seminars over the internet. These have significant benefits over traditional hotel based meetings such as the elimination of travelling with the associated safety benefits and savings in peoples’ time and travelling costs. It also encourages wider participation from external participants including groups from a specific company location, rather than single representation at a hotel forum.
The Forum focuses on operational issues associated with the Balancing Mechanism and operational aspects of the interface between market participants and National Grid. It also provides the opportunity for National Grid to discuss with the industry the types of Balancing Services that we wish to procure and the mechanisms we intend to use to procure them.
