Spring was in the air at Skelton Grange Environment Centre on Good Friday, as nearly a hundred National Grid employees and their families took part in an exciting Easter egg hunt. Children followed trails leading them all over the Centre’s wildlife gardens, following clues so they could claim their chocolate prizes!
The sun shone throughout the morning, allowing everyone to enjoy the signs of spring emerging all over the wildlife gardens, from cheery daffodils to the first green leaves appearing in the hedgerow. The Easter Bunny was also seen on site, delivering Easter eggs to happy children! The event finished with a raffle to raise funds for the Centre, which relies on donations to deliver activities and opportunities for children across Leeds and Wakefield.
Skelton Grange Environment Centre is a partnership between National Grid and BTCV, with support from Leeds City Council. National Grid supports a network of environmental education centres such as Skelton Grange, which offer imaginative, hands-on environmental education activities to help thousands of children learn about the natural world.
“We were delighted to see so many people taking part in our Easter egg hunt” said BTCV Project Officer Toby Roberts, “National Grid have been a big supporter of the centre for over 10 years now, and its great to give everyone a chance to explore and enjoy the Easter sunshine”.
