Ownership

“I knew the only way we could deliver this project on time was for the whole team to understand what was expected and then for each of us to assume responsibility for specific tasks.” *

We demonstrate ownership by:

  • Making commitments and delivering what is promised
  • Meeting or exceeding customer needs
  • Taking personal responsibility to (proactively) resolve issues
  • Volunteering willingly
  • Accepting a fair share of the workload
  • Acknowledging and learning from mistakes
  • Taking responsibility for our personal safety and the safety of our colleagues and the public

Ownership is threaded throughout our involvement in the community.  We believe that we should encourage and support social growth and development in the communities in which we operate.

Our volunteering programme reflects our commercial needs and is designed to develop our business and enhance our reputation by engaging our employees and supporting the local community.  Last year, over 1,600 employees undertook approximately 20,000 hours of community support in the UK.
