This is the Power Academy

You can become a Power Academy student if you are studying for a BEng or MEng in Electrical, Electrical & Electronic, Mechatronics or a Power Systems Engineering degree at one of the partner universities:

  • Cardiff
  • Imperial College
  • Manchester
  • Strathclyde
  • Southampton
  • Queen’s University, Belfast
  • Bath

The Power Academy is run through the Institute of Engineering & Technology (IET) and National Grid is a founding partner of the Academy. 

So what does this mean for you?  We provide an excellent sponsorship package including a bursary, book and software allowance and contribution toward university fees.  Each summer, you will also have an eight-week placement to help you build up your understanding of our business and the power market, and to develop skills important to your career.

All of our Power Academy students are strongly encouraged to apply for our Graduate Development Programme.
