Construction Engineer Training Programme

We’ve launched a major engineering initiative to renew the UK’s network of gas pipelines, improving services for everyone. To deliver this high-profile work we need talented people to join our Construction Engineer Training Programme. This will give you the skills and experience to lead teams and on-going projects over the next decade and beyond.

The project – to replace old iron pipes with plastic polyethylene - is a massive undertaking, involving contractors, partners and major engineering challenges. Mixing on-the-job experience with formal technical and leadership training, this programme will last between two and four years - depending on your skills and qualifications on entry, and will prepare you to manage teams and complex projects. At the end, you’ll be a skilled team leader/manager with the following qualifications:

  • HNC in Mechanical Engineering
  • NVQ level 4 qualification in Engineering Management
  • Engineering Technician status with the Institute of Gas Engineers

Locations:

North London, Mansfield, Manchester, Liverpool, Preston, Birmingham and Wolverhampton
