Women in Networks (WiN) – allows employees to share and explore some of the issues affecting women in the work place and provides personal and career development opportunities. National Grid has a variety of Women’s Development Programmes including: Springboard and Spring Forward, these tap into the skills and talents of our female staff by helping them to reflect on their situations and take steps to further their development. Since the launch in April 2006, 36% of participants have been promoted to a new role or taken on additional responsibilities.

- Action: At the launch of WiN we invited guest speaker Sahar Hashemi, co-founder of Coffee Republic. She gave an inspiring speech about her experiences in building one of Britain’s most successful high street brands.
