This is a £16 billion organisation with a growing and diversifying network.  So although the majority of our business is regulated, the commercial challenge is only set to increase as we expand our regulated and deregulated activities, both at home and overseas.  That means there are a wide range of roles – many more than most people imagine.  These include trading, charging, strategy, business development and contracts – along with many others. 

Before you start your first proper job, we provide an 18-month programme that comprises three different placements across the business.  Each one will help you to build up strong personal and professional skills. 

You’ll have a business co-ordinator who you’ll be able to talk through those opportunities with, and decide on the best route through the programme for you.  The decision about where you go at the end of the 18 month programme will be made as you go through the programme, but will be somewhere where  there is real opportunity for you to add value and develop further

So what kind of background do you need?  A 2:1 or above in:

• Business Studies, Management, Economics, Maths, Statistics, Logistics/Supply Chain Management, Business Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Finance.

Within the Commercial scheme there are also opportunities for graduates looking to go into our Property company.

For these placements we look for a 2.1 in the following degrees:

• Surveying, Estates Management or a Property related subject
