The economy of the countries and regions in which we operate benefits from our investment in plant and equipment to renew, reinforce and extend our transmission and distribution networks.

Our capital expenditure in 2008/09 on our gas, electricity and non-regulated businesses (continuing operations) was just over £3.2 billion, up some 6% on the previous year.
