This perspective looks at how much of a contribution we have made during 2007/08:

• Over £3,000 million invested in new assets
• Board proposing dividend increase for 2007/08 of 15%* and targeting an increase of 8% per annum from 2008/09 to 2011/12.
• Acquisition of KeySpan Corporation complete; sale announced  of Ravenswood generation station for $2.9 billion (£1.4 billion).
• Sale of the National Grid Wireless, Basslink and Advantica completed
• Share buy-back programme amounted to some £1.5 billion
