Our Framework for Responsible Business is structured around three goals - Sustainable Growth, Profits with Responsibility and Investing in the Future - that are linked to the way in which we do business. However, we know that stakeholders are often interested in different aspects of our business. With this in mind, we have provided a number of other 'perspectives' on our performance data:
Data is aggregated to Company or country level (e.g. UK and US) and covers all wholly-owned businesses. Where practical, performance data for 2007/08 has been restated as if KeySpan had been owned for the entire year (acquisition occured mid year, in August 2007). However, in many cases incompatibility between the performance metrics used by the two companies prior to acquisition means that a direct comparison is not possible between our 2008/09 performance and that of prior years.
Unless otherwise stated, historic data includes discontinued operations (e.g. the four UK distribution networks sold in 2005).
We continue to take the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) and other best practice guidelines into account while developing our corporate-level performance indicators.
