TV star and stand-up comedian Greg Davies, who plays the infamous head teacher Mr Gilbert in cult UK TV show The Inbetweeners, teamed up with National Grid for a new campaign to make students aware of gas safety and the risks of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Research carried out by National Grid showed that more than 50 per cent of students didn’t know who to call in a gas emergency and 42 per cent didn’t have a gas safety certificate from their landlord for the gas appliances in their home.
Greg appears in a ‘National Grid Student Union’ website on Facebook, where video clips provide his top tips for students to stay safe and have fun while at university. Information is also available on the company’s website, has been broadcast on student radio, and has been emailed to students at various UK universities.
In total the campaign has been aired on 234 radio stations across the UK, with a potential audience of 38 million. Online coverage included 22 websites, with a potential audience of 10 million.
