National Grid has been elected as a constituent of the Utilities sector of the 2007/08 Dow Jones Sustainability World index and STOXX index; the fifth consecutive year the Company has been included in the index series.
The Dow Jones Sustainability World Index covers the top 10% of over 2,500 companies in the Dow Jones World Index in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria. As a benchmark for European sustainability investments, the Dow Jones STOXX Sustainability Index covers the leading 20% in terms of sustainability of the companies in the Dow Jones STOXX SM 600 Index.
National Grid was previously a constituent of the ‘multi-utilities’ sector, there being a separate sector for ‘electricity’. For 2007, Dow Jones has merged these sectors.
