National Grid wins energy efficiency award in US

National Grid has won the Association of Energy Services Professionals (AESP) ‘Outstanding Achievement in Program Implementation Award’ for its energy efficiency programs, which have been available to National Grid’s US customers for more than 20 years.

National Grid won the award for providing a comprehensive portfolio of energy efficiency programmes that target all customer groups in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire continuously for more than two decades. The company’s programmes have saved billions of kilowatt-hours of electricity, saved customers billions of dollars and eliminated millions of tons of greenhouse emissions associated with electricity production, thereby reducing gases that contribute to climate change. AESP Award recipients must have achieved at least one of the following four criteria: contribution to the advancement of the energy services field; raising awareness of an energy services program or need; representing “best in class” in the design, implementation or evaluation of an energy services program; and / or demonstrating an outstanding commitment to the advancement of the energy services field.
