National Grid’s energy efficiency programmes in the US have been named among the nation’s best by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE).
This year, National Grid received honours for 10 programmes (8 exemplar and 2 honourable mentions); the largest number of awards received by a company in the Northeast.
National Grid's energy-efficiency programmes in New England were recognized for effectiveness and innovation in helping customers achieve greater levels of energy efficiency in 2007 in their homes, businesses, and facilities.
The annual award programme, carried out before the acquisition of KeySpan, also recognised KeySpan's as an exemplar company in the 'Municipal Programmes, Multi-Utility Collaboratives and Multi-Sector Programmes' section.
ACEEE is a non-profit organization dedicated to research and policy development to advance energy efficiency as a means of promoting both economic prosperity and environmental protection.
