US publication 'Profiles in Diversity' has named National Grid a recipient of one if its ‘2011 Diversity Leader Awards’ for demonstrating outstanding diversity communication practices throughout the year. Other recipients of the award included well-known US companies like American Airlines, Burger King Corporation, Ford Motor Company, Verizon and Walmart.

The Diversity Leader Award goes to companies that regularly share their success stories with the magazine’s readers by taking advantage of the magazine’s special features, sharing their news releases and offering profiles of their thought leaders.

The Nov/Dec edition issue of Profiles in Diversity Journal features a special section on National Grid, including an interview with Tom King, President, National Grid US. The profile also highlights several of the company’s diversity initiatives, community investment programmes and employee resource groups.
