Scope of CR report

What information can be found in the 2010/11 report?

The National Grid 2010/11 corporate responsibility report is for  the year ended 31 March 2011 and covers our wholly-owned global operations.

We will publish our 2011/12 corporate responsibility report in June 2012.

What performance data is included?

Our corporate responsibility performance is reported in line with our Corporate Responsibility Reporting Principles.

Data in the 'our performance' section is aggregated to Company or country level (e.g. UK and US) .

Where practical, performance data for 2007/08 has been restated as if KeySpan had been owned for the entire year (acquisition occurred mid year, in August 2007). However, in many cases incompatibility between the performance metrics used by the two companies prior to acquisition means that a direct comparison is not possible between our 2008/09 and 2009/10 performance data and that for prior years.

Where appropriate and meaningful, both absolute and normalised performance data is provided. Normalised data provides a more accurate indicator of year-on-year performance than an absolute measure because it takes into account changing employee numbers resulting from acquisitions and disposals.

Unless otherwise stated, historic data includes discontinued operations.

Key financial information is predominantly located in the Annual Report and Accounts.  Background information about National Grid is set out in other areas of the corporate website.

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)
