The Grain LNG importation terminal was successfully commissioned in early July 2005 and since then has been receiving commercial cargoes from our customer BP/Sonatrach. After initial investment in Grain LNG of around £130m, an additional £355m project is currently underway to expand the terminal and increase capacity. By Winter 2008, three new LNG storage tanks will be completed which will increase total capacity to just under 10 million tonnes of LNG per annum. The customers for this second phase are Centrica, Gaz de France and Sonatrach and the Principal contractor is CB&I.
In May 2007, we also announced a third phase of capacity at Grain LNG which will add a further five million tonnes of annual LNG capacity by winter 2010/11. Another £310 million investment will push the total invested in the terminal to around £800m and on completion of this additional phase it will be able to import around 20% of forecast UK gas demand for 2010. The customers for this third phase are E.On, Iberdrola and Centrica, with the construction of a second jetty and additional tank contracted to CB&I.
