National Grid mails forms of election to shareholders of Niagara Mohawk

National Grid Group plc announced today that it has mailed Forms of Election to shareholders of Niagara Mohawk Holdings, Inc. (Niagara Mohawk) in connection with its acquisition of Niagara Mohawk.
The acquisition is subject to approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission and is expected to be completed in early 2002.
